Fantabulous Day # 141 – Colors and a Powerful Personality

I guess you are saying, “Lizzy does not have any thing better to do with her time than take pictures of her nails?’  Well that would be correct.  I love polishing my nails. Picking the color that I am going to wear is like picking clothes out for the day.  It does not seem like anything special to me, because I have been doing it for so long.

I was told that I needed to get a life because I took the time to polish my nails.  I didn’t understand that comment.  It only takes me a total of maybe 20 minutes to perform my artistry.  That’s what I am going to call it.  My mom taught me from an early age, some where around 1, to make my nails look good.  I’m not exaggerating.  🙂  Of course I don’t really care what others think, my nails are a reflection of who I am.  I have a colorful personality as well…………. I like me!

I think it is true that we are the sum of our experiences. Every now and then I have flash backs of some life changing event from my childhood.  Some experience that made me the person I am today.   I have always associated my nail polishing with my mom.  She is actually a retired carpenter, but she always kept her nails nice and her hands always seem so soft to me.  I don’t know if that was all in my mind or what.  She even taught my daughter to take care of her nails, that started also at a very young age.  For my daughter that was about 6 months. 🙂  I love my mom.

I have been told that the way you take care of you hands is a reflection of who you are.  I don’t really care about that.  There is a more simple explanation for me.  I just like the colors.  🙂

Your Colorful Lizzy 🙂

I LOVE painting my nails. Since I’m pretty much on the computer all day for work it’s nice to look down every once in a while and see nice colors 🙂 And you’re right..who cares what others think, paint your nails! Maybe even each one a different color 😉

I just picked up some nail polish the other day! Tic-tac orange … Used it to touch up some scuff marks on my bike. 😉 When my wife starts painting her nails I simply leave for a bit to let her enjoy herself.

Ha Ha! LOL.. that is really funny. 🙂 That is actually a great idea about using it as touch up paint. I am going to put that tip in my pocket for future use. I can’t believe I did not think of that myself. 🙂

You are indeed a colourful person – and the nails are perfect! Let ’em shine – at least they can distract you as you loop. Wait…maybe I should try it.

Liz is definitely correct about her mom and nails! The XXXXXXXXX (including the men) have a strange obsession when it comes to nails. I too used to paint my nails on a regular basis. CHILDREN ruined it for me! I have been slowly getting back into it. I am so busy that the nails rarely have time to dry so they often look like I smashed them with the blanket or sheets to give them some sort of pattern. I now try to find colors in what AVON calls Speed dry form so that I only need to use one coat and the polish drys in record time so that I can either go to bed or go out with out the worry of smudging.

I actually have on this hot pink number now, yesterday I had on tangelistic with is a bright orange.

I would luv, luv, to hear from you! :)
